Youth Innovation & Learning Labs
Join Let's Make It for a week of immersive learning involving a variety of hands-on projects in which students make and take home items of practical value. Through different innovative projects, scientists, certified teachers, artists and entrepreneurs will bring to life lessons about chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and social science. Musical experiences and outdoor education are also embedded in this program. The sessions will take place at Let's Make It's downtown locations, conveniently situated at Union Station and Stackt Marketplace - sites of social, historical, architectural, and ecological significance.
MEANINGFUL MAKING
Each day, students will engage with elements in the natural world as they work with a range of tools, materials and ingredients. They will link theoretical concepts to practice as they make items that represent what they have learned. Their individual journeys will be documented in a portfolio that they will construct throughout the session, enabling them to deepen their digital fluency while creating an asset that will also become a reference for documenting and measuring learning and growth.
